The business world is changing at a very alarming rate. What was deemed as astute business practices two years ago is now considered out of date. With the global playing field becoming smaller and competitive, I’ve seen the emergence of people from all works of life taking up the ‘title’ entrepreneur. I think many around the world are realising life is more than just having a job. A great man once said “job stands for just over broke” (J.O.B) and with this statement, I believe many are beginning to run with their own vision rather than just working for some else’s vision. So today’s question is, are you an entrepreneur or a WANTtrepreneur?

There are many definitions on who an entrepreneur is. You can go to Wiki for many of these definitions. My definition of an entrepreneur is as follows: An entrepreneur is a leader of excellence, trailblazer and pioneer who constantly brings change to their generation.

Leader

If you are going to call yourself an entrepreneur, it is imperative that not only are you a leader in your chosen field but you are leading the pack with the baton called excellence in hand. I work in the personal development industry and one of the things which distinguishes me from other speakers is my excellence; excellent websites, excellent keynote presentations, excellent books and excellent videos. As an entrepreneur, it is vital people are dazzled by your excellence rather than blinded by your mediocrity.

Trailblazer

To become an entrepreneur, it is vital you are a trailblazer. What do I mean? For you to become an entrepreneur, you need to constantly create opportunities, ideas and paths for others to follow. My second book titled The Doorway To Distinction: 200 Quotes To Inspire You To Reach New Levels Of Excellence is a ground-breaking and historic book which has 200 of my original quotes; 25 on distinction, 25 on excellence, 25 on goals and 25 on vision which also has strategic and inspirational teaching which challenges the reader to achieve their visions, accomplish their goals, constantly raise the bar of excellence and in turn become a person of distinction. Since the launch of my trailblazing book, many people have and will continue to write books with their own quotes in it. Imagine I didn’t write The Doorway To Distinction? My originality wouldn’t have inspired, challenged and blessed my generation. Is your originality inspiring your generation or infuriating them?

Pioneer

In the world of many duplicates, for you to become an entrepreneur it is vital you produce a product or service which has never been done before or actually produce a product or service so excellent your competitors have to go back to the drawing board. As mentioned earlier, I work in the personal development industry and when I first entered the industry there were no websites I could refer to as a bench mark, so with the truth in hand, I had no choice but to create two distinct and excellent websites; www.oamediahouse.com and www.b1coaching.com which would not only establish me as a leader of excellence in my field but it also gave others a benchmark to start from. What project are you pioneering and will the accomplishment of it excite your generation?

Change agent

As mentioned previously, the business world is changing so to become an entrepreneur you need notable milestones of excellence which will constantly empower, inspire and challenge your generation to bring change to their world. Entrepreneurs by nature are people who act as catalysts for change in their community, city and different nations. In regards to your vision, will it move your generation forward or keep them stagnant?
