On the 5th of March 2016, I had the privilege to deliver; How to become a leader of distinction™ at a leadership conference in Cranfield University which is situated in Milton Keynes which is located about 50 miles outside of London.
After introducing myself with my life story; From Detention to Distinction which includes being raised in a single parent family, six friends murdered, me nearly getting shot dead, creating a global brand of distinction, writing 12 books in less than five years and speaking on different platforms around the world, I went on to teach and speak on what leadership is and what the essence of leadership is .

The first topic I spoke on was vision. Knowing having a clear and defined vision is key to becoming a leader of distinction, I taught my audience using the following quote below.
I proceeded to inform them to understand my leadership quote they have to realize their vision isn’t about them but rather, it’s about the people they will serve with their talents, treasure and time. Using myself and other distinguished leaders such as Richard Branson as an example, I went on to teach how and why they should have a minimum five year vision and how their leadership distinction is connected to their vision, values and voice. The silence when I told my audience this truth meant my earlier statement, “your vision is connected to your gifts, talents and passion” meant mindsets were permanently changed and new possibilities and opportunities in becoming a leader of distinction was birthed.
During my talk I covered topics such as excellence, creativity and time management with attendees being empowered, equipped and enlightened on the essence of leadership distinction.
During the Q&A, many attendees said they’ve never heard or seen teaching like this before and they were shocked at the distinction on show. It was satisfying, strategic and special that attendees now understand the essence of leadership distinction knowing they’ve been changed, charged and challenged to go forth and change others, distinction style.
Exactly seven days later on the 12th of March, I delivered; How to become a leader of distinction™ at a leadership conference titled; Legendary Leadership Lessons 3 which was held in Nottingham which is situated about 100 miles from London.
It was an honour to be the keynote speaker for the event which had people learning and listening in from across Africa. As always I introduced myself telling my audience my life story; From Detention to Distinction. The rapturous applause from the audience was humbly received. The first topic I taught was on vision and it was exciting to see the audience receiving my distinct, deliberate and defined teaching.
The next topic I spoke and taught on was excellence. I taught using my quote below knowing one has to practice what one teaches.
I went on to teach my audience with the explosion of social media, there’s actually no reason why their leadership brand doesn’t speak when they are silent and in turn challenge others to identify, nurture and grow their brand too. Again, the faces of my audience showed how my message wasn’t just hitting home, it was actually bringing many into the zone of distinction. I told my audience their vision and brand go hand in hand and once activated the ‘one thing’ principle that works for me will be born. I told them the likes of Nike, IBM and Apple know the ‘one thing’ principle which in turn makes them leaders in their field.

I went on to cover other topics such as time management and determination and I was fully satisfied that new possibilities and opportunities in becoming a leader of distinction was conceived, believed and will be worked on to be achieved by my audience and those tuning in from across Africa and in fact the world. Like the previous week, many of the attendees thanked me for my original teaching with many saying they’ve never heard a message like this before and were actually fed up of the same old recycled talks. It’s so vital to give people what they want and desire and to be fair, that’s distinction right there.
It was a great day of meeting new friends knowing a new wave called distinction has started and a multitude have already jumped on board.
